Alain St.Ange forced to withdraw – “A coup d’état by Africa Union on Africa”

Alain St AngeThe Seychelles President Danny Faure withdrew the candidature of Alain St.Ange from the election to the post of Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation without asking Mr. St.Ange. Mr. St.Ange, former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine of Seychelles, commented, “It is a coup d’état by Africa Union on Africa.”

St.Ange told ftnNEWS that he is sad that Seychelles took that decision. “Africa endorses a candidate but did not impose a candidate. The IOC, the Indian Ocean Commission with four African Union members endorsed the Seychelles Candidate. The sanctions threat on Seychelles by African Union is a blackmail and not acceptable at United Nations. It is a Coup d’état except the guns have been replaced by threats. 93 year old Mugabe, the dictator of Zimbabwe will never get the UN under his control. In 1977 Seychelles suffered from a coup d’état when the island's founding President Sir James Mancham was in London for a commonwealth meeting. In 2017, Seychelles is embroiled in a second coup d’état when Alain St. Ange is in Madrid for UNWTO meeting. Africa loses its only chance of leading the UN body.”
