Pennsylvania casinos achieved US$3.2 billion revenue

Casino slot barThe Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today reported that the combined gross revenue from the play of slot machines and table games during the 2017/2018 state fiscal year was the highest total to date.

The total revenue of$3,247,599,744eclipsed the previous high state fiscal year total of 2015/2016, and was 1.4% higher than the total revenue achieved last state fiscal year.

The total increase was driven by the increases in both slot machines and table games revenue during the recently completed 2017/2018 state fiscal year compared to the previous fiscal year (0.7% and 3.3% respectively). The Board released year over year figures for slot machine revenue onJuly 3, 2018.

Table games revenue was up 9 of the 12 months during the fiscal year, with total revenue in 2017/2018 of$895,278,807compared to$866,518,820during the 2016/2017 state fiscal year.

Tax revenue produced through table games play was up 4% from$138 millionin fiscal year 2016/2017 to$144 millionin fiscal year 2017/2018*. Estimated combined tax revenue from slot machines and table games for the 2017/2018 fiscal year was$1,336,946,353*.

Finally, the Board is also reportingJune 2018monthly table games revenue on its web site,www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov. That report shows that$73.5 millionin table games revenue was generated duringJune 2018, a 5% increase compared to June 2017.
