Brand USA is critical for US

U.S. Travel Association Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Policy Tori Emerson Barnes told a congressional subcommittee that the United States will soon start to feel an economic pinch from decreased international tourism unless Congress renews the national destination marketing organization, Brand USA.

UNWTO Observatory Network

Australia’s South West Sustainable Tourism Observatory has officially become the latest member of the World Tourism Organization’s International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO). The Observatory will work to monitor tourism in the south-west region of Australia and help guide its sustainable development.

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the global body that represents the private sector of the Travel & Tourism industry, today commends the Portuguese Government for recognising the importance of the sector to the overall economy, and making it a priority which has resulted in the Travel & Tourism sector growing 8.1% in 2018, contributing €38.4BN (US$45.5BN) to the nation’s economy. 

WTTC Climate Neutral

The World Travel & Tourism Council [WTTC], the global body that represents the private sector of the Travel & Tourism industry, in conjunction with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change [UNFCCC], brought together over 50 CEOs, Heads of State, ministers and industry leaders at its first-ever Climate and Environment Action Forum this past week and called for climate-neutrality by 2050.
