Took place in Orlando, Florida from November 6-9, 2013, the DEMA Show is the only international trade event for the diving, action water sports and travel industries. A testament to the brand’s commitment to the dive market, Cozumel Palace’s executive team utilized the conference as a forum to keep the industry abreast of the company’s numerous updates, partnerships and offerings.
On December 12-15, 2013, Cozumel Palace will take part in the second edition of the Cozumel Scuba Fest. This Mexican Diving Festival is inviting divers from all over the world to enjoy our marine life and honor men and women who fought to protect our oceans. The purpose of the festival is to promote the island as a first-class destination for scuba diving. Cozumel Palace will host the official closing cocktail with Jean-Michel Cousteau & Guinness World Record Diver, Leo Morales, who currently holds the record for Deep Diving for people with disabilities.
Further positioning Cozumel’s family-friendly resort as a dive enthusiast’s paradise, Palace Resorts recently announced a strategic partnership with dive operator, Aqua Safari, now available exclusively at Cozumel Palace. Guests can also learn the basics of scuba diving via certified instructors.
Cozumel Palace was recently the official host of the documentary The Current, a film that explores the healing powers of the ocean as it follows the stories of six disabled athletes who rediscover the freedom of movement. The breathtaking views of Cozumel Palace served as the backdrop for several days of in-the-water filming for the documentary film featuring renowned underwater explorer and environmentalist, Jean-Michel Cousteau (son of world-famous Jacques Cousteau), who narrates the film, set to premier in 2014. Disabled athletes who joined Cousteau in the Cozumel shoot included: disabled military veteran, Jesse Murphree, awarded the Purple Heart; Rick Finkelstein, a Hollywood executive who was paralyzed in a ski accident in Aspen in 2004; quadriplegic David Hosick who was paralyzed while playing Rugby; and Guinness World Record holder of deep diving for people with disabilities, Leo Morales.
Refined taste, friendly service and an unrivaled location on the spectacular Caribbean Sea make Cozumel Palace the ultimate getaway for adventure travelers, divers and nature lovers. Most of the resort’s 175 luxury guest rooms are Junior Ocean view suites with balcony and hammock, all with double Jacuzzis and five-star amenities. Two outdoor pools, including one infinity pool, are steps away from the gently lapping waters of the Caribbean Sea, beckoning snorkelers, divers and kayakers to explore beyond the shores.
Guests who book a stay of five-nights or more can also take advantage of the most valuable vacation promotion on record - $1,500 Resort Credit, which can be used on spa and beauty salon treatments, golf outings, romantic dinners and off-site excursions and tours.
