fully branded oneworld lounge in Terminal 1 of Seoul's Incheon International Airport

oneworld Alliance Launches First Branded Airport Lounge in Seoul

The oneworld® alliance, known for redefining luxury air travel, has now made its mark with the opening of its first fully branded dedicated airport lounge in Seoul.

In collaboration with Swissport and the team behind the acclaimed ASPIRE Airport Lounges, oneworld has set a new benchmark in premium airport lounge experiences. Located in Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport, the 555 square-meter lounge boasts a contemporary design and comfortably accommodates up to 148 customers. This strategically placed lounge is a mere 10-minute stroll from the most distant departure gates of oneworld airlines.

Incheon International Airport serves as a key hub for seven oneworld member airlines: American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, and SriLankan Airlines. These airlines collectively operate over 60 weekly flights from Seoul, connecting to more than 900 destinations globally through the oneworld network.

The new lounge offers oneworld customers a vibrant yet serene space to relax, dine, and recharge before flights. Gerhard Girkinger, oneworld’s Vice President of Customer Experience, Delivery, and Membership, expressed pride in launching the alliance’s first branded lounge in line with its 25th anniversary. He emphasized the lounge’s role in enhancing travel experiences with refined fixtures, digital technologies, and ergonomic settings.

David Collyer, Swissport International AG’s Global Vice President Executive Lounges, also expressed enthusiasm about this collaborative venture. He highlighted Swissport’s commitment to bringing excellence to oneworld’s new lounge business, leveraging their extensive expertise in airline operations.

Open daily, with extended hours on Monday and Saturday, the lounge caters to oneworld Emerald and Sapphire customers, as well as First and Business Class passengers of member airlines. The lounge’s design, led by D/DOCK’s Art Director Jochem Straatman and Interior Designer Tatiana Otani Nishi, integrates the dynamic oneworld brand into a sophisticated 3D space, balancing digital technologies and South Korean cultural elements.

The lounge features the alliance’s bold ‘Travel Bright’ branding, subtly incorporating South Korean cultural aspects like the Lantern Festival and the traditional ‘Gat’ hat. It provides a variety of zones and seating areas, allowing customers to choose a space that matches their mood. The signature ‘mood light’ of the lounge changes colors throughout the day, adding to the ambiance.

The attention to detail and the use of unique materials throughout the lounge redefine luxury with a futuristic twist. This innovative space offers a new interpretation of luxury for oneworld customers.

In addition to this lounge, oneworld alliance members continue to have access to over 600 airport lounges worldwide through their Priority Tier Benefits, further enhancing the travel experience for frequent flyers.
