Wego and KTO Welcome GCC Travelers to Discover Korea

Wego, the largest online travel marketplace in MENA, collaborates with Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to raise awareness around Korea and invite travelers to explore the country.

Under the theme “our hearts welcome you”, Wego and KTO will be promoting the best of South Korea through tailored campaigns and content about the country, shedding the light on the marvelous attractions and things to do.

Korea, the perfect East-Asian getaway where the man-made marvels beautifully blend with the splendid tranquility of nature, offers travelers a wide array of activities to enjoy during all the seasons.

Ms Hyunsun Hong, Regional Director of KTO Dubai office, commented: “South Korea has been benchmarked as one of the successful models for controlling the pandemic, reiterating the fact that it is one of the safest places in the world for tourism at this moment”.

Boasting of its 14 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, tourists are exploring the lesser-travelled islands of the Korean Archipelago like Jeju and Busan, the second largest city in south Korea. Offering a picturesque 360-degree view of the endless coastline, Manjanggul Cave is one of the famous UNESCO heritage sites luring countless tourists to this volcanic island.

One of the best times to visit Korea is also from mid-March extending till late April. An increased influx of tourists is witnessed during early April, who come to experience the amazing Korean cherry blossoms. Breaking through the chillness of winter, spring in South Korea is welcomed with great festive celebrations.

While the country is covered in a blanket of blossoming spring flowers, KTO hosts an array of food and cultural festivals that had attracted around 15.35 million tourists in 2018 and 17.50 million in 2019, with an increased number of tourists by 14%.

Mamoun Hmedan, Managing Director, MENA and India, Wego, said: “We’re thrilled to partner again with KTO to promote this stunning East-Asian getaway. It’s a must-see destination everyone. Travelers get to indulge in dance, music, yachting experience, street parade and much more. And the country is handling the pandemic very well with the safety and precautionary measures put in place.”

With clear visibility to enjoy the untouched beauty of South Korea, Byeongbangqi Skywalk is one of the main attractions that guarantees thrill and excitement. Feel on top of the world by walking on the glass floor and never miss the breathtaking views of the “U-shaped” Donggang river.

The Koreans treasure their ancient 5000-year old long history and display their rich legacy that gets passed down to future generations through the celebration of festivals that are filled with culture and arts.
