Trip to Kuala Lumpur

Malaysian Nightlife: What to Do During a Trip to Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia and its capital, Kuala Lumpur, are one of Southeast Asia’s biggest business hubs. It also has some of the best nightlife in the world.

It’s so great, in fact, that many visitors may feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choice. Malaysians live at night, and the city accommodates them with everything from 24hr concert venues to bustling street markets you can visit at three in the morning. If you’re planning a trip to the city anytime soon and are looking for a road map, here are some great nighttime activities to enjoy in Kuala Lumpur.

Visit a Night Market

If you love the night, no visit to Kuala Lumpur would be complete without visiting one of its many night markets. Small areas of residential neighborhoods are closed to vehicles starting at around 6 pm. These places are great if you want to sample authentic foods from Malaysia and abroad. You can also shop for fresh produce and tons of different items.

Go Bar Hopping

Kuala Lumpur has some of the best beautiful nightclubs in the world and is a must-see if you visit. You especially have to pay a visit to one of the city’s many rooftop clubs. These allow you to enjoy fine dining and entertainment while enjoying glorious views of the city’s skyline. Places to check out include Marini’s on 57, the Heli Lounge Bar, and the aptly named Sky Bar.

Do Some Online Gambling

One thing you should know is that even if some of the best casinos in the world can be found around the region, there are no casinos in Kuala Lumpur proper. That’s because the country is predominantly Muslim. However, this restriction is only for Malaysian residents, so you are free to play if you have an online gambling account back home.

If you’re looking for a casino that will make it easy for you to play from wherever you are, we suggest you check out www.jackpotcitycasino.com. They use top-notch encryption technology which makes it safer if you decide to play on a public network, and they are VPN friendly as well.

Take a Stroll in Changkat Bukit Bintang

Changkat Bukit Bintang is a quaint locality located right in the middle of the city. That’s only during the day, however. The area comes alive at night with streets lined with lit-up shops, watering holes at every turn, and nice bars and cafes. You’ll also find plenty of food stalls that sell great food at budget-friendly prices.

Go Shopping

There’s also no time when you can’t go shopping while in Kuala Lumpur. If you need a shopping fix in the middle of the night, we suggest you head on to Petaling Street. This is part of Kuala Lumpur’s original Chinatown, and you have the chance to shop for everything from jewelry to toys and t-shirts. This is also a great place to sample some delicious Chinese street food.

These are all great things that you could try next time you’re in the city. This is only part of it, however, so don’t be afraid to do some exploring and find out a few hidden gems of your own.
