UAE Bans its Unvaccinated Citizens to Travel Abroad

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government announced a travel ban from January 10 for its citizens who are not vaccinated against Covid-19.

In order to travel, vaccinated citizens are also required to obtain a booster dose.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) announced the new requirements on January 1, 2022.

 

 

Travel is permitted for unvaccinated citizens who are medically exempted from taking the vaccine, humanitarian cases, and also for individuals traveling for medical and treatment purposes.

The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has reported 2,581 Covid-19 cases on January 4.

The latest infections were detected following 397,766 tests conducted over the previous 24 hours to screen for the virus.
