Explore Egypt: Smartwings Launches New Direct Flights from Prague to Cairo

Starting November 1, air carrier Smartwings will be offering direct flights from Prague to Cairo, Egypt’s bustling capital. The service, part of Smartwings’ autumn offerings, will operate twice a week.

The announcement comes as the latest addition to Smartwings’ expanding destination list in Egypt, which already includes popular tourist spots like Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm Al Sheikh, Al Alamain, Taba, and Marsa Matrouh.

Timings and Code-Share Agreement

Flight QS1244 will depart from Václav Havel Airport Prague on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 22:50, arriving in Cairo at 3:40 local time. The return flight QS1245 is scheduled to depart from Cairo on Thursdays and Sundays at 4:30 local time, with arrival in Prague at 7:35.

Tickets for the new service are available for purchase on the Smartwings and Czech Airlines websites under a code-share agreement, as well as from flight ticket vendors.

Future Plans and Winter Schedule

“We are delighted to offer our customers direct flights between Prague and Cairo for the first time ever,” said Petr Šujan, Sales Director of Smartwings. “We also plan to increase the capacity and frequency of flights to this appealing destination for our summer flight schedule.”

The airline has ambitious plans for its winter schedule, offering flights from Czech airports to over two dozen destinations including Dubai, Spain, the Canary Islands, Israel, and Turkey.

New Contract for German Routes

Smartwings recently secured an exclusive contract to operate flights between Abu Dhabi and three German cities—Cologne, Nuremberg, and Leipzig—on behalf of German tour operator Tourism 365, a subsidiary of Etihad Holidays.

The Smartwings Group will operate its winter schedule flights from multiple countries including the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Slovakia, and Hungary.
