St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort

St. Regis Debuts in Morocco

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, a distinguished name under Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, has today announced the grand opening of The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort in Tamuda Bay, marking a significant entry of the St. Regis brand into Morocco.

Developed by Eagle Hills and designed by Smallwood, this luxurious resort offers an indulgent sanctuary on the Mediterranean coast of Tamuda Bay.

Helen Leighton, Vice President Luxury Brands at Marriott International, expressed pride in this milestone, stating, “The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort, Tamuda Bay is set to become the most iconic address in Morocco, showcasing a new level of luxury hospitality.” This sentiment underscores the strategic growth of St. Regis on the African continent and their commitment to expanding their luxurious footprint.

The resort, built as a private riad, features intimate courtyards and lush gardens, radiating Moroccan charm and paying homage to Andalucian cultural influences. Its design incorporates local white architecture, a color palette of whites, neutrals, and blues with bronze accents, and celebrates local craftsmanship with intricate metalwork and mosaic zellige tiles. The property is adorned with a curated collection of local art, connecting guests to the rich heritage of the nearby UNESCO-acclaimed Tetouan medina and the beauty of the Rif mountains.

Guests at The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort can choose from 83 guestrooms and 17 suites, including the luxurious 1,800 square-feet Presidential Suite. Each room, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean, is elegantly designed and features the brand’s hallmark St. Regis Butler Service. This personalized service, a century-old tradition, includes garment pressing, packing services, and a bespoke approach to guest preferences.

The resort’s culinary experiences are equally impressive. Baie Blanche Brasserie, a contemporary French brasserie with Moroccan touches, offers a seafood-centric menu in a setting blending white and green hues. The Bahia Vista Beach Bar & Grill serves fresh seafood and sushi in an elegant beachside ambiance, while The St. Regis Bar offers classic cocktails, including a Moroccan-flavored St. Regis Bloody Mary. For a quieter experience, The Library provides a cozy corner for the signature St. Regis Afternoon Tea.

Wellness is a focal point, with The St. Regis Spa offering treatments inspired by Berber traditions, in partnership with Sothys and marocMaroc. The spa’s rooms, named after Berber women, offer a tranquil space for rejuvenation.

The hotel also boasts over 5,000 square-feet of event spaces, including the Astor Ballroom with its garden overlooking the Mediterranean, ideal for weddings, gatherings, and meetings.

Laurent Demoulin, General Manager, emphasized the brand’s commitment to exceptional hospitality, stating, “We are excited to welcome guests seeking unparalleled luxury to The St Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort, Tamuda Bay.”

In response to the recent earthquake in Morocco, the resort will collaborate with ANAPEC to train and employ young people from the affected areas, reflecting St. Regis’s commitment to community support and development.
