Hyatt’s 35+ New Luxury Hotels by 2025

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has announced an exciting expansion plan that will add more than 35 new luxury hotels and resorts worldwide to its portfolio by 2025. This development is part of Hyatt’s strategy to cater to the growing demand for luxury and resort accommodations, with a focus on delivering personalized experiences and top-tier quality service.

The expansion will encompass Hyatt’s esteemed brands, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Miraval, Alila, Andaz, Thompson Hotels, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, and the Inclusive Collection brands such as Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts and Dreams Resorts & Spas. This ambitious growth plan showcases Hyatt’s commitment to maintaining its asset-light approach while significantly increasing its luxury, resort, and lifestyle room offerings.

In the past five years alone, Hyatt has achieved impressive milestones, doubling the number of luxury rooms, tripling resort rooms, and quadrupling lifestyle rooms. Currently, 70% of Hyatt’s rooms are classified as luxury or upper upscale, reflecting the brand’s ability to meet the high standards of today’s discerning travelers.

The World Travel & Tourism Council forecasts a 12% contribution of travel and tourism to global GDP by 2033, and Hyatt is poised to capture a significant share of this growth. The brand’s expansion into new international markets includes the introduction of Park Hyatt hotels in the UK, Mexico, and Malaysia; Thompson Hotels in Austria and Italy; the first Andaz hotel in the Caribbean; The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in the Nordics and India; and significant growth in Portugal with the opening of Andaz Lisbon and Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina.

Mark Vondrasek, Hyatt’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of these new additions, saying, “Our growth in the year ahead will follow an insight-led approach, focused on evolving travel needs and the desire for immersive experiences that prioritize wellbeing.”

A recent Ipsos report highlighted the increasing demand for wellbeing offerings and new experiences in the travel decision-making process. Hyatt is responding to these needs with specialized programs like comprehensive sleep therapy at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets and adventurous experiences through the Andaz “Be Like No One’s Watching” campaign.

The preference for privacy and self-care is also driving the popularity of villa stays at locations like Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Alila Villas Uluwatu. Moreover, the Park Hyatt Los Cabos and Park Hyatt Marrakech are set to become wellness destinations with their specialized spas, catering especially to Gen Z and Millennials.

Hyatt is also enhancing its World of Hyatt program with reimagined benefits, including expanded Milestone Rewards, offering more choices for earning points, suite upgrades, and more.

The company continues its growth through strategic acquisitions, like the recent addition of Mr & Mrs Smith, further diversifying its portfolio and offering more boutique and luxury hotel options globally.

Heidi Kunkel, Senior Vice President Commercial Services, EAME at Hyatt, added, “Our luxury growth strategy is purposefully ambitious, focusing on key leisure destinations and personalized experiences for each guest, member, and client.”
