Hotel Indigo Stratford upon Avon, formerly The Falcon Hotel, has appointed a new General Manager ahead of its much-anticipated opening next month.
Carl Davies-Phillips joins from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) where he was General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Airport. Carl has worked in the hotel industry since he was 16 years old and previously worked for hotel brands including Marriott, Mercure, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
Originating from Swansea in Wales, Carl considers himself as being very patriotic, especially when it comes to Rugby. His other passions include the countryside and all things Disney! Carl describes his General Manager style as being approachable, friendly, hands-on and customer oriented.
Carl said “When I saw the position advertised, I jumped at the chance as I know what a fantastic brand Hotel Indigo is. Taking the class, style and customer attention of the boutique hotel concept and combining it with the IHG brand gives us something very special. Hotel Indigo is all about the neighbourhood and we are very fortunate to have one like ours in Stratford-upon-Avon and a property that fits so handsomely into it. When I first arrived, I spent time as a tourist to understand why this town is so well loved. I want to make Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon the best place to stay, drink, eat and relax in this town, and we look forward to opening our doors to showcase this magnificent hotel and what we have achieved”.
Kerry-Ann Markham has also been appointed as Director of Sales. Previously she spent a year in a regional role at Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express in the South West. Kerry-Ann has over 15 years’ experience in hotel sales and her main passion and enthusiasm lies within refurbishment projects and repositions which provide an interesting challenge. Her responsibilities at the hotel are focused on re-connecting the hotel with its local and national business market, securing new high-end leisure business and training the sales teams.
Kerry-Ann said, “It is extremely exciting to be a part of Hotel Indigo Stratford upon Avon and I am really looking forward to introducing such a beautiful and interesting hotel to the industry”.
For the last two years the hotel has undergone a multi-million-pound major restoration project. The Grade 2 listed historic building has been painstakingly restored and is the biggest refurbishment in the hotel’s long history. The decorative black and white half-timbered building is now blended with modern, stylish, contemporary bedrooms, The Woodman’s Restaurant, The Falcon Tearooms and Cocktail bar that provide guests with a unique boutique hotel. There are 93 guest rooms designed on three themes, each inspired by the history and locality of the town. 76 are standard rooms, 2 are accessible, 12 are superior and 3 are suites. All rooms are equipped with Hypnos beds with luxury Egyptian cotton linen, spa-inspired bathrooms, Nespresso coffee machines, high speed Wi-Fi and a variety of channels on a 40” flat screen TV.
The hotel is located just 5 miles from M40 J15, A46/A429 exit and only 28 miles from Birmingham International and 92 miles from London Heathrow. Stratford upon Avon railway station is only 0.6miles from the hotel. For more information please visit https://stratford.hotelindigo.com.
