Borsalino announced the opening of its first standalone travel retail boutique inside the Milan-Linate Airport, inspired by design, technology and sustainability.
Opened its inaugural doors on October 21st, this initiative marks the brand’s entry into the travel retail channel and consolidates its presence within the city of Milan, in addition to the company’s showroom and two historic Via Sant’Andrea and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II flagships.
Located within the Piazzetta del Lusso area that overlooks airport departures and is dedicated to high-end shopping, the 36 square meter Borsalino travel retail boutique is characterized by an original visual identity, designed to enhance the Maison’s highlighted selection of hats and caps for contemporary travelers.
Mauro Baglietto, Managing Director for Borsalino declares: “The Borsalino Milan-Linate boutique marks our entry into travel retail, a channel that the company is strongly focusing on. Travel and the idea of the journey are intrinsic to the brand’s historic DNA that has been promoting Made in Italy Excellence across the globe since 1857. As part of our current development plan, 2021 has already welcomed an inaugurated boutique in Nammos Village Mykonos, the popup stores of Loulou Beach Saint Tropez and Metropole Hotel Monte Carlo, as well as launching the Ape Piaggio Borsalino project that first premiered in Sani Resort Greece. This new Milan-Linate travel retail boutique culminates a very special year according to the company’s set objectives of balanced and sustainable growth.”
With the restyling of Milan-Linate Airport now complete, the hub aims to establish itself as one of the most technological in Europe.
The exciting touchless and facial recognition features; large bright spaces dedicated to shopping and food; and the luxurious relaxation areas have all been designed specifically to cater to the modern passenger, while offering the most fluid and engaging travel experience possible.
