The UK Drone Show to showcase Business Use of Drones

Experts in the UAV and drone industry have predicted a surge in the training and use of commercial drones for 2016, ahead of the nation’s first ever drone expo. The UK Drone Show is set to take place at the NEC in Birmingham, UK and due to demand an extra date has been added, now running 5-6 December 2015.

Drones have been increasingly used in the public and private sector, by media companies for aerial photography and cinematography, mapping and surveys and in the agriculture industry. The drone industry is creating careers as more and more businesses recognise the benefits of UAV technology and look to recruit drone engineers and experts.

Oliver O’Brien, the show’s Project Manager said, “Some industries started using drones a few years ago, but suddenly more and more businesses are realising the advantages and jumping on the bandwagon. We predict the use of commercial drone technology is going to continue to increase throughout 2016, especially with DJI, the world’s largest consumer drone manufacturer, reportedly being valued at $10 billion.”

Companies already utilising UAV technology include Amazon, Shell and DHL and they are increasingly being used for humanitarian projects, including catching poachers in Africa’s National Parks and helping out in disaster zones. Businesses which are planning to introduce drones to its operations in 2016 and beyond include Easyjet and Network Rail.

Manny Williamson, from the British Model Flying Association said, “The British Model Flying Association are very pleased to be attending The UK Drone Show in December, with a stand featuring a range of resources including a flight simulator, as well as the opportunity to gain advice and guidance on all aspects of sport and recreational multi rotor flying.

“Staff will be on hand to discuss aspects such as insurance and legislation, and the Civil Aviation Authority will also be sharing the stand in order to promote the launch of the forthcoming Drone Awareness Week and to advise on the legalities for those considering commercial activity with their aircraft.”

The UK Drone Show is the largest consumer drone event to ever take place in the UK, and is a great industry research opportunity for businesses considering incorporating drone technology. The event will feature exhibitors including drone manufacturers, UAV gadget and specialist software suppliers, demonstrations of the latest tech and expert speakers who will provide an insight into the future of drones. It’s everything to do with drones and UAV technology all under one roof, and a great place for businesses to meet the pioneers of drone technology and discover the endless opportunities it provides.

Oliver added, “In the business arena, drones are definitely the next big thing for most industries. The UK Drone Show is the best place for companies to explore their options and discover just how UAV technology can be integrated into their business.”
