ITA Airways and Emirates Sign Codeshare Agreement

The Italian national carrier, ITA Airways and Emirates, the largest international airline, have finalized and signed a codeshare agreement to expand their existing interline partnership at the IATA Annual General Meeting in Dubai.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Antonino Turicchi, Executive Chairman ITA Airways, Andrea Benassi, General Manager ITA Airways, Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer ITA Airways and CEO of Volare, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, and other guests from both airlines’ alliance teams.

This new commercial agreement will offer more travel opportunities for passengers of both airlines, enabling seamless, one-stop connections to destinations across Italy and Europe with ITA Airways, as well as simpler and faster journeys to the Emirates network from Dubai.

The agreement will allow ITA Airways and Emirates travelers to fly to their destinations with a single ticket, check in at their departure airport, and collect their luggage at their final destination.

Emirates customers will enjoy smooth travel to 9 domestic destinations in Italy from Rome Fiumicino, including popular tourist spots like Turin, Florence, Genoa, Naples, Brindisi, Bari, Catania, Palermo, and Trieste. Additionally, they will also be able to connect to the European cities of Tirana and Sofia

ITA Airways customers will benefit from significantly enhanced travel options by connecting to the Emirates route network from Dubai via ITA Airways’ services from Rome.

The agreement will also boost inbound travel to Italian destinations from regions across the Emirates network, including Australia, the Far East, the Middle East/GCC, and West Asia.
