Did you know Etihad Airways has just celebrated a major milestone? The airline’s loyalty program, Etihad Guest, has welcomed its 10 millionth member, marking a significant achievement in its history.
The airline sees this as a new era for Etihad Guest, offering members more rewarding experiences. Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, expressed delight at this milestone, noting a 25% increase in member numbers since the start of 2023.
The 10 millionth member is set for a special surprise. They will be upgraded to Platinum status, a prestigious tier usually requiring 125,000 Tier Miles. This upgrade highlights the airline’s commitment to rewarding its loyal customers.
Etihad’s celebration of 20 years of service underpins this milestone, reflecting its dedication to providing extraordinary experiences inspired by Emirati identity. Launched in 2006, the Etihad Guest program now boasts a global membership, with significant bases in the UAE, India, the UK, the USA, and Australia.
The program’s recent enhancements offer personalized benefits to all members. New members start at the Bronze Tier, enjoying free onboard Wi-Fi chat packages to stay connected during flights. Higher tiers unlock more benefits, such as extra baggage and priority check-in.
Etihad Guest has also introduced Custom Benefits, allowing members to choose perks that suit their preferences. These benefits, ranging from extra baggage to lounge access, depend on the member’s tier.
Beyond Benefits reward the most loyal members. Gold Tier members earning 75,000 Tier Miles, or Platinum Tier members earning 175,000 Tier Miles, can choose two Beyond Benefits, such as priority boarding or lounge access, to share with friends and family.
A new top tier, Diamond, has been introduced for the most loyal flyers. To reach Diamond status, members need to be Platinum members and spend USD 150,000 over a 12-month period. Diamond members enjoy a wide range of bespoke benefits.
