According to the latest data from the ObservaTUR Seasonal Report, 30% of Spaniards planning to travel this summer will start their vacations in July.
This statistic, while slightly lower than 2023 by one percentage point, aligns closely with trends from previous years, indicating a stable preference for mid-summer getaways.
Stable Vacation Trends
Despite the slight dip from last year, the stability in vacation timing underscores a consistent trend. Notably, in 2023, the general elections coincided with the July vacation period for the first time in history. However, this did not significantly alter the holiday plans of Spaniards. Both men and women equally favor July, with 29% of each gender opting for this month.
Age Preferences
The report highlights that July is particularly popular among younger travelers, specifically those aged 18 to 49. Interest in traveling during this month decreases among those over 50, with the least preference shown by individuals aged 65 to 74. This trend is also observed in August, the other peak vacation month.

The ObservaTUR report, which includes contributions from Amadeus, AON, Beroni, Carrefour Viajes, IAG7/Airmet, Iberia, ILUNION Hotels, Iryo, MundiPlan, ReiniziaT, and the National Union of Travel Agencies (UNAV), offers valuable insights into national travel trends. It indicates that a significant portion of the population remains faithful to their preferred vacation periods, regardless of external factors such as political events.
