Hilton has announced the signing of Abu Dhabi’s first Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts property in collaboration with Aldar.
Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi will elevate the luxury hospitality landscape by transforming the existing Eastern Mangroves hotel into a world-class destination offering Waldorf Astoria’s signature service and upscale accommodations. It marks the brand’s continued growth in the UAE, further enriching the region’s prestigious hotel portfolio.
Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi is strategically situated next to the stunning Mangrove National Park, a natural sanctuary housing over 60 bird species along with diverse wildlife such as turtles, dugongs, and dolphins.
Hotel guests will have the unique opportunity to explore the park by kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, or boating through its serene waterways—a captivating experience that immerses visitors in the natural beauty of the UAE capital.
With 167 elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, many featuring expansive views of the mangroves, the new property will embody the refined elegance that Waldorf Astoria is known for globally. Each guest will benefit from a dedicated Personal Concierge, ensuring every aspect of their stay is tailored to perfection, from pre-arrival arrangements to post-departure services.
The hotel’s culinary offerings will include a curated selection of dining experiences such as a sophisticated brasserie, a rooftop specialty restaurant, and the iconic Peacock Alley lounge. These amenities will be complemented by elevated facilities including three swimming pools (adult, family, and kids), a fitness club, and a spa, providing guests with a well-rounded luxury experience.
Carlos Khneisser, vice president, Development, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, expressed excitement about the new property: “We are delighted to have signed Abu Dhabi’s first Waldorf Astoria, which will enjoy an unrivalled location overlooking the Mangrove National Park. With its anticipatory service and timeless elegance, it is set to be a destination of choice for those seeking modern luxury in the capital.”
Set in close proximity to key cultural landmarks such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Qasr Al Watan presidential palace, Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi will also be conveniently accessible to the city’s vibrant downtown area and Zayed International Airport.
Its prime location is expected to attract both business and leisure travelers, offering seamless access to the best that the UAE capital has to offer.
The property’s opening will further bolster Hilton’s presence in the UAE, which currently includes over 35 hotels across the nation, with three existing properties under the Waldorf Astoria brand. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to delivering unparalleled luxury experiences in the region, particularly as Abu Dhabi aims to welcome more than 39 million visitors by 2030.
