American Airlines AAdvantage® members are set to benefit from a new, streamlined security experience through the introduction of TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID.
This innovative service will allow eligible members to breeze through security checkpoints at select airports, thanks to a partnership between American Airlines and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
This touchless security process uses advanced biometric technology to compare a customer’s image to their passport photo, allowing for a hands-free, seamless passage through TSA security.
AAdvantage members will soon be able to skip the hassle of handing over documents or touching screens, making their airport experience smoother and more efficient.
“We want to give our customers an easy experience while they move through every point of their travel journey, and the airport is a big part of that,” said Kim Cisek, American’s Vice President of Customer Experience.
“Introducing this option will help customers move more seamlessly from the airport lobby through TSA security to enjoy the next step in their travel.”
To participate in this streamlined service, AAdvantage members will be prompted to opt in by providing essential information, including their AAdvantage number, valid U.S. passport information, and Known Traveler Number (KTN). Once enrolled, members only need to renew annually and have the flexibility to opt out at any time.
This TSA PreCheck Touchless ID option is part of American Airlines’ ongoing efforts to enhance the travel experience for its loyal members. The airline will provide AAdvantage members with further details about specific airport locations and timing as the program rolls out.
