Vienna-Athens Flights Just Got Easier with This New Airline

A new direct flight connection is now linking Vienna and Athens, offering travelers greater convenience and flexibility for exploring two iconic cities.

Starting today, December 3, 2024, SKY express has launched its all-year-round service between Vienna Airport and Athens, with four weekly flights operated by a modern Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The addition of this route highlights the growing demand for travel between Austria and Greece. Athens, known for its historic landmarks like the Acropolis and Parthenon, also boasts a vibrant cultural scene, modern shopping districts, and dynamic nightlife.

From its central location, Athens serves as a gateway to Greece’s picturesque islands, making it an ideal destination for Austrian travelers. Meanwhile, Vienna, famous for its elegant architecture and charming Christmas markets, remains a winter favorite among Greek visitors.

Flights on this new route are scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Departure times vary slightly, with morning and evening flights tailored to suit both leisure and business travelers. The state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo used for these flights offers a quieter and more environmentally friendly travel experience, aligning with SKY express’s commitment to sustainable aviation.

The new flight connection was officially inaugurated today by Ioannis Grylos, Owner SKY express and Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.
