Adventures by Disney Unveils Rhône River Cruise for 2026

Adventures by Disney is set to expand its European river cruise offerings in 2026 with a brand-new itinerary along the Rhône River in southern France.

This eight-day, seven-night journey will take families through the scenic Rhône Valley and Provence, blending Disney’s signature storytelling with French culture, history, and gastronomy.

Sailing aboard the AmaKristina, operated by AmaWaterways, travelers will explore five stunning destinations while unpacking just once. From the food capital of Lyon to the historic charm of Arles, each stop offers a mix of guided tours, hands-on activities, and immersive experiences designed for all ages. The itinerary includes stops in Tournon, Viviers, Avignon, and Arles, allowing families to experience the beauty of the region through a variety of curated excursions.

A Journey for Every Explorer

Guests can choose from a range of active sightseeing adventures, such as cycling through picturesque villages, kayaking beneath the ancient Pont du Gard aqueduct, or riding a steam-powered train through the Doux Gorges. Each experience is crafted to highlight the breathtaking landscapes that make this region so famous.

For food lovers, the cruise offers culinary experiences showcasing France’s world-renowned gastronomy. Travelers will visit local vineyards in the Rhône River Valley, tasting wines from the famed Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, while food tours in Lyon will introduce them to cheese, chocolate, olive oil, and honey tastings. Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille, guests can even explore the city’s culinary heritage, where the legendary chef Auguste Gusteau found inspiration.

A Celebration of Art and History

Art lovers will step into a world of color and creativity, from walking the Ochre Trail in Roussillon to participating in hands-on painting classes. The experience continues in Lyon, where guests will watch a traditional silk-weaving demonstration, an art form deeply rooted in the city’s history. A special highlight is a visit to St. Paul de Mausole, where Vincent van Gogh created over 250 masterpieces, including The Starry Night.

History enthusiasts will be transported through time with Disney’s immersive storytelling, uncovering ancient Roman ruins in Lyon and Nîmes, medieval villages, and the historic hilltop town of Les Baux-de-Provence. The charming streets of Tournon and Viviers will offer a glimpse into France’s well-preserved past, making this cruise a true journey through history.

A Family-Friendly River Cruise with Disney Magic

Each sailing will be guided by Disney-trained Adventure Guides, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for every guest. Special “Junior Adventurers” activities will engage younger travelers, while adults can enjoy tailored excursions. In 2026, five Rhône River cruises will be offered, including four family-focused departures and one exclusively for adults.
