Renfe has expanded its AVE high-speed train service, adding a new Friday departure that reduces travel time between the two cities to just 2.5 hours.
Starting March 7, 2024, the AVE 3131 train will run on Fridays at 1:00 p.m., departing from Madrid Puerta de Atocha-Almudena Grandes and arriving at Barcelona-Sants by 3:30 p.m. This expansion is expected to boost weekend travel by offering a fast, efficient, and comfortable alternative for both business and leisure travelers.
