Princess Cruises launches its largest-ever Northern Europe programme for 2027, unveiling 48 voyages across 54 destinations in 18 countries, with itineraries ranging from 7 to 64 days.
The expanded season, which goes on sale January 13, 2026, positions the cruise line as offering more Northern Europe sailings than any other North American operator.
The programme runs from April to August 2027 and includes the line’s most ambitious itinerary to date: the 64-day Ultimate European Journey. Sailings will be operated by four ships, led by the 3,560-guest Regal Princess, with additional deployments from Majestic Princess, Sky Princess and Caribbean Princess across the British Isles, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Iceland and Norway.
A record-breaking season across Northern Europe
The 2027 season marks a significant expansion for Princess Cruises, both in scale and itinerary depth. The company says the new programme reflects growing demand for longer, more immersive European journeys and aligns with the rising popularity of so-called “coolcation” travel in Northern Europe.
At the heart of the deployment is Regal Princess, which will sail 48 voyages in the region. Guests can book individual cruises or combine itineraries into extended journeys, creating customised sailings that range from one week to more than two months at sea.
“Princess is sailing Northern Europe like never before, presenting our most comprehensive program yet,” said Jim Berra, Princess Cruises Chief Commercial Officer. “With enriched itineraries, broader destination choices, and more opportunities for guests to personalize their ideal 2027 summer getaway, this Northern Europe program is more varied, more flexible, and more inspiring than ever.”
Across the season, Princess Cruises highlights the scale of the programme with the following features:
- 48 voyages available individually or as combinable sailings
- 54 destinations across 18 countries
- 6 regions covered: Atlantic, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Baltics, Iceland, and the British Isles
- 5 homeports: Southampton (London), Copenhagen, Reykjavik, Helsinki, and Fort Lauderdale
- Overnight stays in select ports including Stockholm and Cobh, the gateway to Blarney Castle
The itineraries feature a mix of major capitals, UNESCO-listed heritage sites, medieval towns and smaller ports that are often harder to reach by land. Destinations range from Barcelona and Edinburgh to Icelandic fjords and Baltic gems such as Visby, Akureyri and Seyðisfjörður.
Long voyages, new routes and immersive shore experiences
Princess Cruises places particular emphasis on longer voyages designed for travellers seeking slower, more in-depth exploration. The standout 64-day Ultimate European Journey and the 49-day Northern Europe Explorer both sail roundtrip from Southampton or Copenhagen, combining multiple regions into a single extended cruise.
Among the highlighted sailings for the season are:
- 8-night Irish Counties & Scottish Shores roundtrip from Southampton, calling at Falmouth, Cobh (overnight), Dun Laoghaire (for Dublin), Belfast and Greenock. Departs June 25, 2027, with fares starting from $1,249.
- 10-night Norwegian & Icelandic Fjords from Copenhagen to Reykjavik, visiting ports including Stavanger, Molde, Akureyri and Isafjordur. Departs July 10, 2027, with fares from $1,699.
- 15-night Mediterranean Adventurer sailing roundtrip from Southampton to destinations including Barcelona, Provence, Livorno, Corsica, Sardinia and Ibiza. Departs April 30, 2027, with fares from $1,899.
- 14-night Scandinavia and Baltic Adventure from Southampton to Helsinki, calling at Oslo, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Tallinn and Visby. Departs May 15, 2027, with fares from $2,199.
- 25-night British Isles & Icelandic Fjords Explorer from Reykjavik to Copenhagen, covering Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, England and northern Europe. Departs June 15, 2027, with fares from $3,949.
Shore excursions are positioned as a key part of the expanded programme, with Princess offering region-specific experiences designed to deepen cultural connections. Options include guided visits to historic sites, food and drink tastings, outdoor adventures and small-group tours.
Examples of shore excursions featured in the programme include:
- British Isles: Cork City Sights & Jameson Whiskey with a Jameson Ambassador; Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae & Skaill House; Ultimate Scottish Highlands & Loch Ness Cruise
- Iceland & Norway: Godafoss Waterfall, Lava Labyrinth & Hot Springs; Cruise to Vigur Island; Bathing in the Blue Lagoon
- Baltic & Scandinavia: Ultimate Gdansk & Oliwa Cathedral; Tallinn & Its Artisans; Forest Trekking with the Huskies
Princess also promotes its EZ Air programme as part of the 2027 offering, allowing guests to customise flights, airlines and cabin classes, with the option to book now and pay later. The line is additionally running a “Come Aboard Sale” through February 16, 2026, offering savings of up to 40% on cruise fares, up to $500 in instant savings, 50% off deposits and free third and fourth guests on select sailings.
With longer itineraries, expanded destinations and an emphasis on immersive experiences, Princess Cruises’ 2027 Northern Europe season reflects a broader shift toward slower, more meaningful travel. For cruise passengers looking to explore Europe beyond a single region, the programme offers one of the most comprehensive options yet at sea.
