Portland’s Waterfront Blues Festival announces 2026 lineup and early bird ticket sales

Portland’s Waterfront Blues Festival announces its 2026 lineup and early bird ticket sales, confirming the event’s return to Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Downtown Portland from July 2 to July 4, 2026.

Organisers reveal a globally inspired programme featuring artists from Ethiopia, Peru, Canada, London, New Orleans and Portland, with 1-day tickets starting at $45 and 3-day passes from $99 across general admission and VIP tiers.

The festival also introduces a new programming partnership with independent concert producer True West, working alongside longtime Festival Artistic Director Peter Dammann to curate the lineup. Alongside three days of live performances across three stages, the event will again include family activities, local food vendors and its annual Fourth of July fireworks show on the Willamette River.

The 2026 lineup brings together established chart-toppers, underground favourites and international acts reflecting the evolving influence of blues across genres. Headliners and featured performers include The Revivalists, Durand Jones & The Indications, Tank and The Bangas, Cymande, Hailu Mergia, Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, Seratones, Toody Cole and Her Band, and Glitterfox, among dozens of others.

Organisers say the programming highlights how blues traditions continue to shape contemporary music around the world. The festival will showcase soul revival, Latin-influenced sounds, Americana, punk roots and family-focused performances, aiming to appeal to multigenerational audiences.

“Waterfront Blues Festival has evolved over the years into this unique musical story of how the blues crosses genres and turns up in surprising places,” said Peter Dammann, Festival Artistic Director. “In working with True West, it was awesome to see their take on Latin artists like The Point, Fernando Viciconte, and Orquestra Pacífico Tropical and how they weave into the lineup. And it’s been fun to see True West excited about folks like Don Was, the legendary producer, bassist, composer and bandleader. We’ve wanted to bring him to the fest for years.”

True West says the collaboration focused on capturing the improvisational spirit at the heart of blues music while reflecting modern influences from across cultures.

“We were thrilled to get the call from the Blues Fest,” said Lori Hughes Killen, Senior Talent Buyer at True West. “When we started working with Peter and the Blues Fest Team, we reflected on the improvisational spirit of the blues, how it opens up space for the unexpected. Its influence shows up in Peruvian cumbia, in gritty Portland garage-soul, in London funk. This lineup isn’t about preservation. These are artists who don’t stick to the script. They collaborate, they take risks, they see where the moment takes them, and that’s really exciting.”

Beyond the music, the festival continues its focus on community engagement and accessibility. Children aged 12 and under will receive free entry, supported by Buick GMC of Beaverton, while the Blues Bites food court will feature local food and drink vendors alongside regional artists and merchants.

The event will once again host its large-scale Fourth of July fireworks display, launched from a barge on the Willamette River and visible across the city, accompanied by a curated musical soundtrack.

Festival organisers say the independent structure of the event allows them to balance international performers with local talent while maintaining a strong community focus.

“Being independently owned and operated, along with support from the city, local businesses and the festival’s loyal fans allows us to build this festival for the community first,” said Christina Fuller, Festival Director. “We can spotlight local artists and vendors while also welcoming major national and international talent, stay accessible for families while throwing a rockin’ Fourth of July party. Each year, the festival adapts and grows, while remaining committed to creating a truly unique celebration of music, culture, community, and our city.”

Early bird tickets for the 2026 Waterfront Blues Festival are now on sale, with both single-day and three-day options available across general admission and VIP levels. For more information, visit waterfrontbluesfest.com/tickets.
