Emirates Launches Travel Cover with Conflict and Medical Protection

Emirates has launched a new Comprehensive Travel Cover product that includes conflict-related medical protection, expanded travel disruption support, and airline-managed accommodation for affected passengers. The airline said the insurance is available from 17 June 2026 and can be purchased during booking or added later through its Manage Booking platform.

The new product, developed with Travel Guard, combines traditional travel insurance benefits with additional support from Emirates. It includes conflict-related medical cover of up to US$25,000, unlimited medical expenses and emergency evacuation cover worldwide, trip cancellation protection, baggage delay and loss compensation, and a free trip extension of up to 30 days.

Emirates said it is the first airline to offer a comprehensive travel insurance product that includes medical cover for conflict-related incidents alongside airline-managed support during a range of travel disruptions.

Under the programme, Emirates will rebook passengers to their destination at no additional cost when itineraries involve connecting flights on other airlines or when Emirates services are unavailable. The airline said this also applies to flights cancelled because of conflict-related disruptions.

The travel cover is supplemented by airline-managed hotel accommodation during major disruptions, including airspace closures. Emirates said this service is provided directly by the airline and is separate from the insurance benefits.

The carrier said the new protection package responds to continued strong demand for international travel while addressing customer concerns about disruption risks and travel uncertainty.

“Listening to customer feedback, we realised that travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover. Therefore, we acted to address our customers’ needs. Together with Travel Guard, a leader in the global insurance industry, Emirates is pleased to offer an enhanced travel insurance product that is as comprehensive as it is reassuring for a wider range of situations. With strong demand for travel in summer, we are proud to offer our customers added confidence in planning their journeys to and through Dubai when they book with Emirates,” said Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline.

Russel Antonio, Head of Global Business & Partnerships at Travel Guard, said: “Our long-standing collaboration with Emirates is grounded in a shared commitment to elevating the customer experience. By combining our strengths once again, this new comprehensive travel product offers enhanced protection that sets a new benchmark in the industry and responds to the needs of today’s travellers.”

The Comprehensive Travel Cover is available in 28 markets, including the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and several other countries across Europe and the Middle East. Emirates said coverage and availability may vary by market and terms and conditions apply.
