Emirates will open its redesigned premium lounge at Istanbul Airport in October, bringing live cooking, wellness facilities and upgraded quiet areas to one of the airline’s key international destinations.
The new Emirates Istanbul lounge will be part of the airline’s next-generation signature lounge concept, which has already been introduced in Munich and Frankfurt. Further openings are planned in Manchester in July and Mauritius in August before Istanbul follows later in the year.
Emirates said it will invest more than AED 50 million, about US$13.6 million, in each next-generation lounge as it expands its premium ground experience across its global network.
Live Dining and Premium Design
The new lounge concept takes design cues from Emirates’ latest cabin interiors and flagship lounges in Dubai. It includes contemporary architecture, premium furniture, integrated technology and more than 50 design enhancements.
The interiors feature soft lighting, herringbone floors, marble and gold accents and the backlit Emirates Ghaf Tree motif, a reference to the national tree of the United Arab Emirates.
Dining areas have been redesigned around live cooking and culinary theatre. Menus will include international dishes, regional specialities and a dedicated “Made In” section highlighting local flavours from each destination.
Guests will also find live cooking stations, hot and cold buffet options refreshed throughout the day and night, and a dedicated bread oven preparing fresh pizzas, flatbreads and manakeesh.
A new barista bar will offer speciality coffees, artisan teas, locally inspired cocktails and mocktails, alongside Emirates’ premium selection of wines, beers, champagne and spirits.
Wellness, Work and Quiet Spaces
The redesigned lounges are planned around different parts of the pre-flight journey, with separate zones for working, dining, relaxing and socialising.
Passengers who want to work before departure will have access to private areas, communal workspaces, Italian eco-leather seating, wireless charging and universal power access at every seat.
Wellness-focused facilities include upgraded shower suites with spa-style finishes and sustainable VOYA amenities. Guests are welcomed with Emirates’ signature scent of bergamot, citrus, jasmine and soft wood, while local plants and fresh flowers are used throughout the lounges.
The lounge concept also includes separate male and female prayer rooms with ablution facilities and Qibla direction integrated into the design.
For passengers on longer layovers, the Quiet Zone offers soft lighting, plush seating, blankets, eye masks and earplugs. Private meeting spaces and breastfeeding rooms are also included.
Emirates currently operates 42 dedicated airport lounges worldwide, including eight at Dubai International Airport and 34 in major airports across its global network.
The lounges are complimentary for First Class and Business Class customers, as well as eligible Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members. Paid access is also available for eligible travellers.
