Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre’s (Royal ICC) 2019 menu stays on the cutting edge of the latest food trends, offering new live food stations.
Due to the growing demand for more interactive food experiences, 10 live food stations have been added to this year’s menu, from fresh seafood to a croquembouche dessert.
The live food stations have been increasingly popular for cocktail functions, conferences and trade shows, as they allow event guests to continue networking with other people in the room and interact with the chefs.
Two of the live food stations feature Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show (RQFWS) and Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) award-winning beef and cheese, with the Royal ICC the only convention centre in Australia where guests can enjoy produce awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in these competitions.
The rest of the Royal ICC’s unique menu is peppered with award-winning produce from these RNA run competitions and it’s through these that our world-class chefs have formed close connections with the entrants – Australia’s finest farmers and producers.
Brisbane Showgrounds Executive Chef Sean Cummings said they’re fortunate to have direct access to some of the world’s best produce.
“One of the RQFWS gold-medal winning meats on our menu is 500 day grain fed Shiro Kin Wagyu from the Darling Downs, which is renowned as one of the world’s best steaks,” he said.
“We not only pride ourselves on sourcing the highest quality ingredients, but in staying at the forefront of food trends and tweaking our menus to offer what’s in demand.”
