On arrival, guests are welcomed by a stunning waka, carved by Rotorua artist, Lionel Grant, and site-specific light installation by Peata Larkin inspired by traditional weaving to create an atmospheric artwork that represents the pathway to the sea as well as protection and strength. Featuring a tranquil moat and soaring atrium not seen before in Aotearoa, the elegant lobby is both airy and intimate.
