Marriott International to Launch Three Hotels in Indonesia’s New Capital, Nusantara

Marriott International, Inc. has inked a significant Hotel Management Agreement with renowned Indonesian developer, PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk.

This collaboration aims to introduce three hotel properties in Indonesia’s freshly designated capital city, Ibu Kota Negara Nusantara. The agreement was formalized by Anthony Capuano, CEO of Marriott International, and Alexander Tedja, President Commissioner of PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk.

Ramesh Jackson, Marriott International’s Area Vice President for Indonesia and Malaysia, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing Marriott’s dedication to expanding its presence in Indonesia. He also highlighted the company’s support for the Indonesian government’s vision for the new capital.

Nusantara, translating to “archipelago” in ancient Javanese, embodies national pride. The city is envisioned as a smart forest city, mirroring Indonesia’s pledge to attain zero carbon emissions and transition to 100% renewable energy by 2060. Under this agreement, Marriott is set to introduce three of its brands to Nusantara: Four Points by Sheraton, Westin Hotels & Resorts, and Tribute Portfolio. Each brand promises unique experiences deeply rooted in the destination’s authenticity.

Alexander Tedja, representing PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk., expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the potential of the project to attract travelers to the new capital.

The first property, Four Points by Sheraton, is projected to feature 300 rooms, an outdoor pool, daylight-filled function spaces, and a state-of-the-art gym. The design will blend classic, industrial, and modern elements, catering to the smart, independent traveler.

The Westin in Nusantara will offer 200 rooms and suites, complete with the brand’s signature Heavenly® Bed. The property will house multiple dining options, function spaces, a fitness studio, spa, and a kids club, all designed to promote well-being.

Lastly, the Tribute Portfolio in Nusantara plans to present 150 rooms and suites, diverse dining venues, and amenities like an outdoor pool, gym, and spa. The brand is known for its unique design and commitment to creating vibrant social environments.

With this ambitious project, Marriott International continues to solidify its position as a global leader in the hospitality industry, while also supporting Indonesia’s vision for its new capital.
