Travelport and Oman Air Renew Agreement

Oman Air

Travelport, a global technology company that powers travel bookings for hundreds of thousands of travel suppliers worldwide, and Oman Air, the national airline of Oman announced today that they have reached a multi-year renewal of the content agreement.

The agreement will enable modern travel retailing by bringing Oman Air content to Travelport-connected travel agencies all over the globe via Travelport+, Travelport’s next-generation travel retailing platform.

Umesh Chhiber, Senior Vice President - Revenue, Retail & Cargo, Oman Air comments: "Throughout our decades-long partnership, Travelport has demonstrated its values and commitment by providing the best service, collaborating strategically with us to implement milestone initiatives, and meeting our business development needs. We are confident that Travelport+, Travelport's next-generation travel retailing platform, will continue to assist us in further strengthening our airline travel retailing products' global position and, as a result, creating more value for agencies and travelers. We will also actively collaborate with Travelport to integrate and distribute our New Distribution Capability (NDC) content on a global scale."

With the new multi-year agreement, Travelport will work closely with Oman Air to implement Travelport Rich Content and Branding initiatives, streamlining service processes, and providing a first-class modern travel retailing experience.

David Gomes, Head of Regional Air Partners for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Travelport, says: “We are really excited about this multi-year agreement renewal. It represents the strong partnership and trust between Travelport and Oman Air. With the evolution of the tools and agency capabilities which Travelport+ provides, we are looking forward to generating greater value for Oman Air and advancing our journey together on NDC.”

Oman Air (WY), the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, began operations in 1993. Initially founded to serve important domestic routes, it has since undergone rapid growth and is today recognized as a major international carrier connecting cities around the world to Oman’s celebrated natural beauty, captivating charm and genuine openness. A Five-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating from Skytrax and two consecutive (2021 and 2022) Five-Star Major Airline Ratings from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) are among its many industry accolades.

The airline has been instrumental in transforming Muscat into a popular travel destination in the Middle East, supporting adjacent commercial, industrial and tourism activities. With a fleet comprising, among others, ultra-modern, fuel-efficient Boeing 737 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft which feature luxuriously appointed interiors, Oman Air is renowned for its exceptional products and services, both in the air and on the ground, and for the signature Omani hospitality available to guests on every flight.

Continuous investments in new technologies, innovative products and enhanced guest services have solidified its position as a premium, multi-award-winning airline of outstanding repute. Both Oman Air and Oman Air Holidays proudly display the Safe Travels stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) for best practices relating to standardized global health and hygiene protocols.
