AA Resumes Flights to Dallas & D.C. from Daytona

Starting December 15th, American Airlines will be resuming their nonstop direct flights to Dallas-Fort Worth and Washington D.C. from Daytona International Airport.

The holidays are a time when families gather all over the world. Daytona International Airport is connecting families one flight at a time and is proud to announce the returning seasonal flights from American Airlines.

“We are eager to connect Daytona Beach International Airport with Dallas-Fort Worth and Washington D.C. this winter,” said Philippe Puech, American’s director of domestic network planning. “We’re pleased to offer local residents with greater access to American’s global network and connect more customer to the Central Florida region.”

For those who wish to get to or from Texas, American Airlines is restarting their daily, nonstop service between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Daytona International Airport (DAB). The direct flights to DFW will run mid-December to mid-January; 12/15 – 1/9 and will resume 2/3/23 – 3/2/23.

As part of their seasonal schedule, American Airlines also added direct, nonstop flights to Washington D.C. (DCA) every Saturday from Daytona International Airport (DAB). The DCA flights will run the remaining Saturdays in December and early January: 12/17, 12/24, 12/31, 1/7 and will resume 2/4/23 through 4/29/23.

American Airlines already offers daily, nonstop service to Charlotte, NC (CLT) from Daytona International Airport (DAB).

“The resumption of these seasonal flights is testament to the demand for service through Daytona Beach International Airport,” said Joanne Magley with the airport’s air service, marketing, and customer experience department.

“With continued support from the community and our visitors, these seasonal flights are likely to continue each year, and help make the case for possible permanent offerings.”

For those who need a day to decide on booking their trip, or confirming travelers, American Airlines offers their complimentary 24-hour hold service for guests. This free option is available for select flights booked through aa.com at least seven days before the departure date. Once they initiate the hold, guests have 24 hours to complete the transaction, or the reservation will be automatically cancelled.

If someone needs more than 24 hours to decide on their trip, they can pay a non-refundable fee for an extended hold.

Here’s how it works:

  • Choose your flights and select “hold” on the “Review and Pay” page
  • Refer to your confirmation email or visit “My Trips” to pay for your trip
  • Your reservation will automatically cancel after 24 hours if you don’t complete the purchase
