The Red Sea

The Red Sea is pioneering a groundbreaking luxury regenerative tourism destination along Saudi Arabia’s west coast. As one of the world’s last true hidden treasures, it boasts the fourth-largest barrier reef system and spans over 28,000 square kilometers. This remarkable area features an archipelago of more than 90 untouched islands, pristine beaches, dormant volcanoes, sweeping desert dunes, mountain canyons, and historical cultural sites.

The Red Sea already welcomed the first guests in 2023. By 2030 it will be home to 50 hotels, 8,000 rooms, up to 1,000 residential properties, and its international airport.

NEOM

The luxurious getaway Sindalah Island in the Red Sea will be the first section of NEOM, one of the world’s largest and most exciting projects, to be put into service in 2024.

Saudi Arabia, which opened its doors to tourism in 2019, is taking firm steps towards becoming the most dynamic and fastest-growing tourism destination in the world, thanks to its tourism diversity spanning twelve months of the year.

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia, which has implemented many new investments within the scope of its “Vision 2030” strategies, has implemented an $800 billion investment plan for the tourism sector, and is using more than $500 billion of this figure solely for the development of new destinations.

Allocating $100 billion to the aviation sector, Saudi Arabia aims to more than double the number of connection points to 250 by 2030.

New Hotels in Saudi Arabia

A new hospitality property opens every week in Saudi Arabia, which currently has a room capacity of 430,000. With the hotels to be opened in the coming years, including the 25,000 rooms that will be put into service in 2024, more than 350,000 new rooms will be added to Saudi Arabia’s accommodation capacity.

Having exceeded its annual target of 100 million tourists, Saudi Arabia aims to attract more than 150 million visitors annually by 2030.

The St. Regis Red Sea Resort

Dar Tantora is a luxury eco-friendly accommodation that opened in the historic AlUla Old City of The House Hotel.

A seamless blend of traditional and contemporary design, the hotel was designed to provide a unique and immersive experience, taking guests back to the 12th century while offering them the high comfort of modern hospitality.

The hotel has 30 guest rooms created by restoring historical adobe buildings using modern engineering techniques combined with traditional materials and techniques to create an authentic AlUla experience. The hotel also features a lobby lounge, coffee bar, pool, spa, and fitness facilities.

In March, Al balad Hospitality opened three new luxury boutique hotels in Jeddah’s Historic District known as Al-Balad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases the city’s rich history and cultural heritage.

Set in historic buildings, each hotel has been redesigned using local materials by a carefully selected team of historians, local artists, carpenters and architects.

Jeddan EDITION opened on the Jeddah coastline in May. Boasting stunning views of the Red Sea, the hotel features 63 luxurious rooms, including 11 suites.

The hotel also features a stylish lobby bar with a pool table and cigar lounge, created in collaboration with renowned Chef Cédric Vongerichten.

Bab Samhan, Diriyah

Opening Date: 2024

Bab Samhan, which is set to open this year, will be the first hotel in the Diriyah region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The hotel, which combines contemporary luxury with the Najdi architectural style, will feature 106 rooms that reflect the culture and history of the region, each offering a unique atmosphere.

Located in northern Diriyah, the hotel is close to both the Hanifa Valley and At-Turaif, one of the most important historical sites in Saudi Arabia.

 

Marriott Autograph Collection, Sindalah Island, NEOM

Opening Date: 2024

Expected to open in 2024, the Autograph Collection property in Sindalah is anticipated to offer rich immersive moments that will leave a lasting imprint for guests. Plans for the resort include 66 rooms and suites, including one- and two-bedroom villas, multiple dining options, a kids club, and a spa.

Sindalah will be a new destination for one-of-a-kind nautical and yachting experiences, located just 17 hours sail from the Mediterranean and featuring a prestigious 86-berth marina for yachts up to 75 meters and serviced offshore buoys for superyachts up to 180m. Additionally, the island will include over 400 ultra-premium hotel rooms and 300 top-end suites, a beach club, a glamorous yacht club, and 38 unique culinary offerings.

 

voco & Suites Jeddah

 

Opening Date: September 2024

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced that the new-built voco & Suites Jeddah is set to welcome guests in September 2024.

The hotel’s strategic location offers stunning views of the Red Sea and is conveniently close to the new Jeddah Downtown, part of the Jeddah Central Development project by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Its proximity to major attractions like the Corniche promenade and the Red Sea Mall, along with easy access to the Royal Court, positions Voco & Suites Jeddah as an ideal destination for government officials and discerning guests seeking high-end accommodations.

Located on Jeddah Beach Road, the hotel will feature 110 uniquely characterized rooms, including luxurious suites, an all-day dining venue, a specialty restaurant, and a cozy coffee shop, a fitness center and a swimming pool.
