The San Francisco Travel chair presides over the board of directors and the executive committee.  Gamez will direct and guide policy at all meetings involving partners of San Francisco Travel, the executive committee and the board of directors.  Founded in 1909, the San Francisco Travel Association is a private, not-for-profit organization that markets the city as a leisure, convention and business travel destination.  With more than 1,300 partner businesses, San Francisco Travel is one of the largest membership-based tourism promotion agencies in the country.

“The opportunity that lies ahead for the city of San Francisco is enormous,” says Peter Gamez.  “We are in a period of colossal growth with many expansion projects and new construction and infrastructure, including the Moscone Center extension, currently underway, and last month’s opening of the Transbay Transit Center. These developments will undoubtedly be big tourism drivers for the city, and it is an honor to lead the San Francisco Travel Association during this exciting time.”  

In Gamez’ new role as Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Two Roads Hospitality, he will be responsible for overseeing the development of and strategies for the Global Sales teams for all of Two Roads’ brands, including Thompson Hotels, Joie de Vivre Hotels, Destination Hotels, Alila Hotels & Resorts, and tommie.   Gamez has over 25 years of hospitality sales experience, and was the Vice President of Sales & Business Development for Joie de Vivre Hotels prior to joining Commune Hotels & Resorts as Vice President, Global Sales in 2013. Before his tenure at Two Roads, Gamez served as the Regional Director of Sales for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, Director of Sales at the Pan Pacific Hotel San Francisco, and spent time with the Kimpton Group, where he was Director of Sales for the Galleria Park Hotel (now a Joie de Vivre property).  He is also active within the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Bay Area and Los Angeles Business Travel Associations.
