Sandos Hotels & Resorts, a leading all-inclusive hospitality brand, announced the appointment of Alan Pujol as the company’s new vice president of operations.
Pujol brings with him decades of industry experience, which he will lend to the brand’s ten major resorts in some of the world’s most well-known beach destinations in Mexico and Spain.
Pujol began his hospitality career at the age of 25 as the resident manager for a hotel in Palma de
Mallorca, showing early promise and a keen ability to produce exceptional results through thoughtful and creative innovation.
Following his early days of success working for Marina Hotels in Spain, he was promoted within the company, becoming the general manager of two properties in Ibiza before a brief hiatus with the brand. He would return to Marina Hotels shortly after, becoming its director of operations, managing ten hotels that fell under his direct supervision.
In 2007, Pujol was offered the director of operations role for Sandos Hotels & Resorts, where he played an integral part in some of the company’s most formative years. He was involved in the acquisitions of properties that are today known as Sandos Cancun, a 214-room resort in the city’s iconic beachfront hotel zone, and Sandos Finisterra, the 265-key oceanfront ‘lands end’ hotel in Cabo San Lucas.
He remained a valued team member until 2013, when he paused his time with Sandos to assume a position with Melia Hotels at their Paradisus Princesa del Mar property.
A year later, he moved to Barcelo, where he worked with their Mexico resorts for five years, before joining the Villa Group as their Regional Director of Operations for their Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit holdings.
Looking for a new adventure, Pujol accepted a position in Vietnam in 2022, before deciding he was ready to return home to Mexico where Sandos enthusiastically invited him back in an executive capacity.
