Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg Appoints Eckart Pfannkuchen

47-year old Eckart Pfannkuchen has been appointed General Manager of the 131-room Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg.

In this new capacity, he will be responsible in future for all operational and administrative business areas of the hotel. Mr. Pfannkuchen, who is shortly to become a father for the third time, has a wealth of experience in the upscale hotel sector. He most recently acted as Director of the Grand Spa Resort A-Rosa Sylt, and his career has also included stints at the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, the Rocco Forte Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the Chedi Muscat and the Hotel Adlon Kempinski.

“We are delighted to have acquired the services of Mr. Pfannkuchen”, Alexander Garbe and Lars Nagel-Heyer, the two Managing Directors of Golf Hotel Hof Treudelberg GmbH, said in a joint statement. “He is an impassioned hotelier with many years of experience in the luxury sector and will be a considerable asset to our company.”

Kai H. Gehrmann, Vice President Franchise & Future Openings, Deutsche Hospitality, added: “We are very much looking forward to working with Mr. Pfannkuchen and extend a warm welcome as he joins the Deutsche Hospitality Team. Seeing Michael Fritz continue to be part of the Deutsche Hospitality family makes this change perfect.” The current General Manager Michael Fritz will take up a new position within Deutsche Hospitality on 1 September.

A 16 million euro programme of renovations was completed in March, and the country manor in which the hotel is housed now features a fresh and elegant new look. The Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg Hamburg is located in the North of Hamburg amidst the idyllic surroundings of the Alster Valley Nature Conservation Area. It also has one of the most attractive and best laid-out golf courses anywhere in northern Germany. The sights of central Hamburg, including St. Michael’s Church, the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall and the city’s famous Warehouse District, are all only around 20 kilometres away.
