Corinthia Hotels has announced an exciting leadership change at their iconic Corinthia Palace in Malta: the appointment of Alexandra Pisani as the Hotel’s new General Manager.
The luxury hospitality sector has formed a huge part of Alexandra Pisani’s life. Having grown up around hotels and spent her early years at Corinthia Palace, she received an invaluable education in the quality-of-service that guests have come to expect from all Corinthia hotels.
In 1962 the entire Corinthia story started with The Villa “It is such an important time for Corinthia Palace,” says Ms. Pisani.
“Aside from all the new developments we have planned, I am looking forward to leading the hotel into its 60th year”.
Alexandra may have only recently returned to Malta , but is far from new to the Corinthia Group. As the daughter of founder Alfred Pisani, she has been immersed in the world of luxury hospitality and consistently exposed to the very best that the international industry has to offer from a young age. Her own career has taken her from senior roles at international five-star properties, to the Group’s own flagship Corinthia London – where she was Quality and Standards Manager. Most recently, she had been Corinthia Palace’s Hotel Manager, overseeing the property’s operations, strategic planning and guiding its upcoming projects.
New developments have already begun, marking a time of change for the luxury hotel. Josephine’s “specialty-coffee” concept recently opened in the hotel lobby. Moreover, it has been announced that in February, Michelin-starred Maltese restaurant Bahia will make the move from its Lija location to the Corinthia Palace.
Alexandra will take a proactive approach to the hotel’s leadership, including being very hands-on and empathetic in its management. Additionally, she is keen to see the hotel improve its sustainable practices and to become ever-more committed to diversity and inclusion, both which Alexandra is passionate about.
Naturally, Alexandra’s leadership style is also influenced by her father, Corinthia Group Founder & Chairman Alfred Pisani. “There’s no doubt that he is the biggest influence in my life. He has always been exceptionally driven and determined, and I have consistently observed that throughout my life. Combine this with the skills my mother has imparted, which include empathy and understanding, and I am honored to continue their legacy.”
Indeed, it is a legacy that will advance at a rapid pace as the Corinthia Palace turns this new corner and begins another new chapter. “It’s time for a rebirth,” Alexandra smiles.
“The property is now being returned to its former glory, and in a surprisingly contemporary style. Along with my brilliant team here at the hotel and the team across the wider Corinthia Group, we want this hotel to be the best in Malta and the best of Corinthia. Excitingly, 2022 will see us relaunch the Corinthia Palace for the next 60 years – and beyond.”
