Bolstering Carriacou and Petite Martinique: A Masterplan by the Grenada Tourism Authority

The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has initiated an ambitious outreach program to bolster tourism in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
The delegation, led by the GTA, comprised key figures including the Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Honorable Tevin Andrews, Chairman of the GTA, Randall Dolland, and CEO of the GTA, Petra Roach.
The team engaged in constructive conversations with local tourism stakeholders on the sister islands to address multiple areas of concern in the tourism industry. These included destination marketing, stakeholder communication, heritage site preservation, product development, and cultural legacy transmission.
Chairman Randall Dolland emphasized the need to enhance Carriacou’s marketing strategies and to promote both Carriacou and Petite Martinique as unique, must-visit destinations. “We need to put more focus on the product itself,” Dolland said. “The next step is clear: we need to allocate more resources to continuously develop and build on the magic that is Carriacou and Petite Martinique.”
Minister Tevin Andrews was reassuring in his remarks to stakeholders. He confirmed that plans are underway to improve infrastructural elements vital for tourism. “We are aggressively working on rebuilding the Hillsborough jetty to make it a port of entry again, and on allowing night landings at the Lauriston Airport,” Andrews revealed. “We are also aiming for daily flights to Carriacou to improve tourism access.”
The consultations concluded on a positive note, with all parties committing to the continuous development of Carriacou and Petite Martinique's tourism sector. The Grenada Tourism Authority pledged to remain committed to fostering the growth of tourism across the tri-island state.
