Air Europa is expanding its global network with a new direct route between Madrid and Istanbul, set to launch in May 2025.
Initially operating a few times per week, the service will increase to daily flights starting in July, offering travelers more flexibility between Spain and Türkiye.
The flights will be operated on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a state-of-the-art aircraft designed for long-haul comfort. The Dreamliner features larger windows, quieter engines, and improved fuel efficiency, making the journey smoother for passengers.
Air Europa’s expansion into Istanbul Airport (IST) strengthens its position in the European aviation market and provides travelers with a new, competitive option for reaching Türkiye’s cultural and economic hub.
Competitive Fares and Travel Perks
One-way tickets for the Madrid-Istanbul route start at €125, making it an affordable option for both leisure and business travelers. This fare is available for round-trip purchases and includes two pieces of hand luggage per passenger—a 10kg carry-on suitcase and a smaller handbag. Checked baggage is not included in the base fare but can be added for an extra fee.
Passengers flying this new route will also be able to earn Suma Miles, Air Europa’s frequent flyer program, which can be redeemed for upgrades, future flights, or travel benefits within the airline’s network.
Strategic Expansion in Europe
Istanbul, a city that bridges Europe and Asia, has been growing as a major international hub. By adding direct flights to Madrid, Air Europa strengthens its presence in the competitive European market, offering more choices for travelers between Spain and Türkiye.
The daily service, starting in July, is expected to increase connectivity for passengers looking to explore both destinations, whether for tourism, business, or transit through Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD).
With Air Europa’s expansion into Istanbul, travelers can now experience one of the world’s most dynamic cities with greater ease, while also benefiting from smooth connections to other European and Latin American destinations via Madrid.
