The Bloody Bar

Lagardère Travel Retail Expands into F&B Operations in Switzerland

Lagardère Travel Retail Switzerland announces the launch of new F&B operations in Switzerland with the opening of a bespoke restaurant concept, The Bloody Bar.

Lagardère Travel Retail Switzerland has opened its first restaurant “The Bloody Bar” in partnership with SBB CFF FFS at Geneva Cornavin station. It is an exciting step for the Group as it marks the launch of the Food and Beverage business line in Switzerland.

SBB stations are part of the Food & Beverage development strategy of the Swiss branch of Lagardère Travel Retail.

Geneva Cornavin station is the third busiest Swiss station in terms of users per day, with a total of 171,000 daily passengers. This large station offers promising prospects for traffic development in coming years. The station is the ideal location for Lagardère Travel Retail to launch its first restaurant “The Bloody Bar”, located opposite the gateway to the Swiss-French TGV platforms.

To comment on this announcement, Pascal Le Droff, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail in Switzerland, said: “These new Food & Beverage operations are a natural addition to our retail luxury activity (Duty Free, Fashion, Duty Free for Diplomats). Lagardère Travel Retail’s agile Swiss team strives to come up with new solutions to meet the expectations of landlords. For Geneva Cornavin station, the team has worked on a bespoke concept. The Bloody Bar is proudly representing its canton, its city and its history. The design and architecture are inspired by the culture of Geneva, and in particular by the Grottes district and Geneva-based street artist Anaïs Coulon. The Bloody Bar is part of Geneva’s DNA. This hybrid, trendy concept can be adapted to the specificities of each station and each canton, while remaining true to its core designs elements: the culture and history of its city”.
