Crescent Hotels & Resorts to Manage Dual-Branded Development in Phoenix

Crescent Hotels & Resorts has announced its role in managing an innovative dual-branded hotel development in Phoenix, Arizona, set to redefine the hospitality landscape in the rapidly expanding Norterra neighborhood.

The project, which broke ground in May 2024, will feature the AC Hotel by Marriott North Phoenix at Norterra and Element by Westin North Phoenix at Norterra, with an expected opening in late 2025.

This ambitious development is the result of a partnership between North Texas developer Jackson Shaw and Tucson-based Holualoa Companies. It aims to meet the growing demand for upscale accommodations in an area that is fast becoming a hub for both business and leisure travelers, thanks to its proximity to major corporations and new residential projects.

Michael George, Founder and CEO of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, expressed confidence in the project’s potential: “The new dual-branded hotel project in Phoenix’s Norterra neighborhood presents a strong opportunity to cater to the area’s growing business demands. With the AC Hotel and Element by Westin brands and their lifestyle amenities, we are confident that they will deliver a best-in-class hospitality experience.”

Strategically located adjacent to the bustling Shops at Norterra, the new hotels will offer visitors easy access to an array of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The area is also near the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) plant, currently under construction, which has drawn numerous suppliers and businesses to the region, further solidifying Norterra’s status as a thriving tech corridor.

Spanning four stories and three acres, the dual-branded development will include a total of 278 high-quality guest rooms. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities such as a saline pool with cabanas, a Pickleball court, two premium suites, communal rooms, and a fitness center. The hotels will also feature impressive meeting facilities with over 8,000 square feet of indoor space connected to an outdoor event lawn, providing an ideal venue for various events.

The AC Hotel by Marriott will boast 184 rooms with a modern European-inspired design. Guests will have access to shared spaces like the AC Kitchen, serving European-inspired breakfasts, and the AC Lounge, which transitions from a productive workspace during the day to a lively bar in the evening. The hotel will also offer unique amenities such as two Top Golf Swing Suites, where guests can enjoy various sports in a sophisticated setting with food and beverage service.

The Element by Westin is tailored for extended-stay guests, offering 94 rooms equipped with spacious living areas and fully outfitted kitchens. Designed with eco-friendly features like oversized windows for natural light and in-room water filtration, the hotel is ideal for guests seeking a balanced travel experience. The Element will also feature a select-service restaurant, a lounge area, and a 24/7 Restore Pantry stocked with nutritious snacks and ready-to-go meals.

This development is expected to create significant employment opportunities in the Phoenix area, further contributing to the local economy. As Crescent Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its portfolio, this dual-branded project in Phoenix represents a strategic addition that promises to enhance the city’s hospitality offerings.
