IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre, a major addition to its expanding portfolio in Vietnam.
Scheduled to open later this year, the 283-key hotel will cater to both business and leisure travelers in Danang, a city renowned for its picturesque beaches, vibrant culture, and strategic location.
Rebranded from the existing Bay Capital Danang Hotel, the property will offer guests stunning views of the Han River and Danang’s dynamic landscape.
Situated in the Hai Chau district, the 31-story hotel is just minutes from Danang’s administrative center, iconic attractions like Dragon Bridge and Da Nang Cathedral, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Hoi An, Hue, and My Son.
Designed to meet the rising demand for meetings and events, Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre features more than 500 square meters of meeting space, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge and bar, a swimming pool, a spa, and a fitness center.
These amenities align with Crowne Plaza’s signature focus on creating seamless experiences for modern blended travel, where work and leisure coexist effortlessly.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director, Development, South East Asia & Korea at IHG, highlighted the significance of this project, noting that it strengthens IHG’s presence in Central Vietnam. “This outstanding hotel will cater to business and leisure guests by delivering exceptional experiences rooted in blended travel,” he said. The hotel joins IHG’s growing roster of Crowne Plaza properties in Vietnam, including Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre.
Danang, also known as the “city of the sea,” continues to grow as a premier business and leisure destination in Asia-Pacific. The city’s position as a commercial and transport hub has made it a magnet for international events and business travelers. With Danang International Airport just a 15-minute drive away, the new Crowne Plaza is poised to become a preferred choice for visitors seeking convenience and world-class amenities.
The project is part of IHG’s ambitious plan to double its portfolio in Vietnam from 16 to more than 40 hotels in the coming years. This expansion includes introducing new brands and delivering elevated experiences for travelers, further cementing Vietnam’s status as a key player in global tourism.
