Dominican Republic Welcomes Four Seasons’ Sustainable Luxury Resort at Tropicalia

Four Seasons and Cisneros Real Estate have unveiled plans for a new luxury resort and residences, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia.

Located on the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda, the 60-acre development promises sustainable luxury along the southern shores of Samaná Bay.

The project, set to open in early 2026, will merge Four Seasons’ globally acclaimed hospitality with Cisneros’ extensive business experience in the Dominican Republic and beyond. The resort, designed by Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld, will feature a tropical modernist aesthetic, setting a new benchmark for sustainable elegance. The property will house a 95-key resort and 25 private residences, all just steps away from the beach.

Tropicalia, owned by Cisneros Real Estate, is not just a resort but a diverse ecosystem. It boasts white-sand beaches, clear waters, coral reefs, mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons, rivers, a working coconut plantation, and an organic farm. Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros, emphasized the company’s commitment to the region’s well-being through the nonprofit Fundación Tropicalia, which has been supporting social sustainability projects for over a decade.

Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, expressed excitement about the partnership with Cisneros. He highlighted their shared values of environmental and community support, praising Cisneros for their work with Fundación Tropicalia.

William Phelan, President of Tropicalia, added that the resort would elevate the Dominican Republic’s luxury hospitality sector, emphasizing its strategic location with easy access from major cities like New York, Miami, and various European and Latin American destinations.

With its commitment to sustainable luxury, community development, and environmental management, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is poised to redefine Caribbean luxury tourism.
