Dream Hotel Group announces plans to open Dream San Antonio, Texas in 2023. With more than twenty new hotels on the horizon for Dream Hotel Group, the signing of Dream San Antonio represents another exciting milestone in the continued growth and expansion of the company and its portfolio of lifestyle brands.
“San Antonio is one of the most authentic, passionate and diverse cities in America, as seen through its bold culture, rich history and burgeoning art, music and culinary scenes – making it an ideal destination for the Dream Hotels flag,” said Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein. “We are proud to be a part of this incredible development with Dream San Antonio setting the standard for what a hotel should be in the heart of dynamic downtown San Antonio.”
Centrally located along the famed River Walk in downtown San Antonio, Dream San Antonio will feature 217 well-appointed guest rooms and suites, multiple dining and nightlife venues, including a rooftop pool deck, bar and lounge, and two restaurants flanking the street level, as well as state-of-the-art fitness facilities and 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space for one-of-a-kind event experiences overlooking the San Antonio River. It’s location in an Opportunity Zone also adds to the financial feasibility and attractiveness of the development for all stakeholders.
Conceptualized by renowned architecture and design firm CUBE3 Architects, Dream San Antonio is poised to become a new catalyst for the area and an integral part of the “new” downtown San Antonio scene. When open, the boutique hotel will be the centerpiece of a large mixed use development that includes office space and private residences, transforming a full city block into a communal gathering place for hotel guests and locals alike.
“The Dream Hotels brand is a great fit for this exceptional city and represents everything San Antonio has to offer; an abundance of character and historical charm within a fast growing and hip urban core combined with unique gastronomy and outdoor events filled with art and music,” added Christian Glauser Benz, Vice President of Development, Dream Hotel Group.
On the heels of the 2015 designation of The Alamo and other San Antonio missions as the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Texas, the City of San Antonio has experienced a renaissance of its Central Business District complementing the steady growth of its downtown core and the recent extension of its world famous San Antonio River Walk.
The River Walk, which follows the San Antonio River through the Downtown area, is the city’s second-most-visited attraction after The Alamo, giving it the additional nickname of “River City.” Lined with numerous shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as the Arneson River Theater, the River Walk is transformed into a festival of lights during the holidays and is filled with the local sounds of folklorico and flamenco music during the summer months.
The second largest city in Texas, San Antonio is known worldwide not only as a historic tourist destination, but also as a home to nearly 2.5 million residents, major sports teams like the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs and many notable businesses, including new technology firms and start-ups like Hulu and Microsoft. San Antonio was also recently ranked one of the top ten “Best Cities in the United States” by Conde Nast Traveler readers in the magazine’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.
With 16 hotels open today and another 20+ locations in various stages of development worldwide, Dream Hotel Group remains one of the fastest growing independent lifestyle hotel companies in the world.
