Hyatt Announces First Hyatt Centric Hotel in Nepal

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has recently revealed plans for the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Nepal. The announcement detailed an agreement between a Hyatt affiliate and City Hotel Limited to transform the existing Hyatt Place Kathmandu into the new Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu. This transformation, upon completion, will introduce a fully rebranded hotel, embodying the vibrant essence of the Hyatt Centric brand.

The planned Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu is set to undergo extensive renovations, including a redesigned entrance and lobby, the addition of a unique sky bar and lounge, and enhanced amenities. These changes aim to provide a more immersive and engaging experience for guests, aligning with the Hyatt Centric brand’s focus on full-service offerings.

Located near the heart of Kathmandu, the hotel is strategically positioned within a short drive from several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. This prime location, nestled in a valley rich with historic sites, ancient temples, and cultural landmarks, makes the Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu an ideal destination for travelers seeking adventure and exploration in Nepal.

Dhruva Rathore, Vice President of Development for India & Southwest Asia at Hyatt, expressed confidence in the property’s potential to serve as an ideal base for guests. He emphasized that the launch of Nepal’s first Hyatt Centric hotel would strengthen Hyatt’s portfolio in Southwest Asia and highlight the region as a key market.

The Hyatt Centric brand, known for its presence in major cities like New York, Madrid, Mumbai, and Tokyo, caters to millennial-minded travelers seeking central, vibrant locations. The brand’s design and offerings are tailored to turn stays into opportunities for discovery and connection.

Akshay Golyan, Executive Director of City Hotel Limited, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming transformation. He highlighted the commitment to providing guests with memorable experiences through locally inspired design and modern enhancements. Varun Talwar, General Manager of the hotel, echoed this sentiment, expressing confidence in the hotel’s future as a leading destination in Kathmandu and commitment to an elevated guest experience.

Hyatt’s portfolio in India and Southwest Asia currently includes 47 properties, spanning eight distinct brands. The introduction of the Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu is expected to further diversify and strengthen this collection, offering a unique and engaging experience for travelers in Nepal.
