IHG Announces Luxury Resort in Australia’s Wine Region

InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa is set to become the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand to one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions.

Announced by IHG Hotels & Resorts in partnership with Strategic Alliance, the 150-room property is scheduled to open in 2028, pending planning approval.

Located in South Australia’s famous wine country, the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa will offer an elegant retreat surrounded by rolling vineyards and breathtaking landscapes. Guests will enjoy luxury accommodations, fine dining, and world-class amenities, making it a premier destination for wine lovers, wellness seekers, and corporate retreats.

The Barossa, with its rich history and renowned natural beauty, is one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations. The InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa’s prime location in the heart of the Barossa will make it the perfect luxury retreat for visitors looking to immerse themselves in the region’s world-class wineries and vineyards, all within easy reach.

When complete, the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa will feature an enticing selection of dining options, including a 130-seat signature restaurant showcasing Australia’s finest flavors and culinary experiences with a contemporary edge. Its lounge bar, outdoor garden terrace and signature Club InterContinental will further provide stylish settings in which to relax and unwind.
