New Barceló Hotel

Most Notable Barceló Hotel Openings in 2023

The most notable upshot from Barceló Hotel Group is their announcement of multiple hotel openings in 2023. As the prestigious Spanish hospitality group forges ahead with its expansion plans, these anticipated hotel openings have gained significant attention for their potential impact both within Spain and around the world.

Barceló has already celebrated two significant openings in 2023, Canfranc Estacion, a Royal Hideaway Hotel and Barceló Funchal Oldtown. Operating under the Royal Hideaway brand, Canfranc Estacion saw the transformation of Huesca’s international train station in the Canfranc Valley of the undiscovered Aragonese Pyrenees in north-eastern Spain, putting the region back on the map for both local and international visitors.

Barceló Funchal Oldtown, which opened in March, is located in the beating heart of the city. The hotel offers a balance of urban buzz and relaxed lifestyle island-style living – Madeira is the new alternative to the Canaries. Its opening has seen a younger crowd drawn to the island. The rooftop at Barceló Funchal Oldtown is especially appealing, with panoramic sea views, completed with an infinity pool.

Barceló Hotel Group’s portfolio of properties will continue to grow and evolve throughout 2023 and into the start of 2024. These additions will include new openings, grand refurbishments and re-openings under Barceló Hotel Group’s management as well as merging of resorts to create a new concept and extended the guest offering.
