Mövenpick to Open New Hotel in Armenia’s Top Ski Resort

Accor, the global leader in hospitality, has recently announced its plans to expand its Mövenpick brand into Armenia’s most popular ski and resort town, Tsaghkadzor.

It marks a significant step for the renowned Swiss-inspired brand, which is set to open a new 198-room hotel, Mövenpick Resort Tsaghkadzor, by 2026.

The hotel is expected to bring a new level of luxury and hospitality to this beloved Armenian destination.

Tsaghkadzor, known for its stunning natural beauty and winter sports opportunities, will soon be home to this upscale property. Located at 52 Saralanj Street, just a short seven-minute drive from the Tsaghkadzor Ski Resort, the Mövenpick Resort Tsaghkadzor will offer guests a blend of Swiss hospitality and local charm.

The resort’s proximity to the medieval Kecharis Monastery and just a 40-minute drive from the capital city of Yerevan makes it a prime location for tourists seeking both adventure and culture.

A Boost for Armenia’s Tourism and Real Estate Market

The introduction of Mövenpick Resort Tsaghkadzor is not just a win for tourists but also a significant boost for Armenia’s tourism and real estate market. Davit Sokhakyan, the owner of 4A Capital LLC, the property development company behind the project, expressed his excitement: “The signing of Mövenpick Resort Tsaghkadzor represents a significant milestone for us as we enter the hospitality market, but also a great opportunity to share experiences and synergies with a renowned international hotel partner like Accor.”

This project is expected to create new jobs within the local community and attract further investments into the Armenian real estate sector. Investors will even have the opportunity to purchase some of the hotel rooms, which will be managed under the prestigious Mövenpick brand.

Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for New East Europe, Alexis Delaroff, emphasized the importance of Armenia in the brand’s expansion strategy: “Armenia offers rich culture, stunning nature, and world-class hospitality, which makes it the perfect destination to expand our Mövenpick brand.” This development underscores Accor’s commitment to showcasing Armenia’s full potential as a top travel destination, attracting visitors from around the globe.

As Mövenpick continues to expand its global footprint, the new resort in Tsaghkadzor is poised to become a centerpiece of luxury and hospitality in the region, drawing both adventure seekers and those looking for a serene escape.
