InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) develops a new-build, dual-branded Staybridge Suites® and Holiday Inn Express® Quincy hotel in Quincy, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston.
The 90-room Staybridge Suites and 90-room Holiday Inn Express will be owned by XSS Hotels (“XSS”) and Cathartes Investments. Colwen Hotels, the management company affiliate of XSS, will manage the new 180-room hotel. This property marks the second development between IHG and XSS. The first, the Holiday Inn Boston Logan Airport – Chelsea, successfully opened in August.
Joel Eisemann, Chief Development Officer, The Americas, IHG, said: “We are enthused to be working with XSS Hotels on this dual-branded hotel. XSS is one of the preeminent hotel developers in the Northeast. They have an excellent reputation in greater Boston and an impressive track record of building artistically designed and operationally outstanding hotels.”
The five-story Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn Express property will share public and back-of-house areas. The dual-branded hotel will feature a lobby bar and light fare evening food and beverage service, a market, 700 square feet of meeting space, a fitness facility, and onsite parking.
Leo Xarras, Partner in XSS, said: “Our team is pleased to be working closely with IHG on multiple projects regionally here in Boston. We are very excited to offer two different accommodation types for travelers with an integrated check-in desk and first-floor amenities.”
Located at 1 Arlington Street in Quincy, Massachusetts, the hotel is directly across from the North Quincy station of the MBTA subway system. The historic City of Quincy, located approximately eight miles south of downtown Boston, is the home of financial, insurance and retail corporate offices, academic institutions and a legacy industrial waterfront.
The dual-branded Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn Express will incorporate the unique and special features associated with both brands, including a hot complimentary breakfast buffet with signature favorite offerings.
The spacious upscale Staybridge Suites guestrooms will include fully equipped kitchens with a full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, cooktop stove, and a dishwasher.
The Holiday Inn Express guestrooms will feature a modern design providing a fresh, contemporary space including multi-functional seating, plush bedding and smart bedside charging outlets.
The dual-branded Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn Express is expected to open in Q2 2019.
