New Mercure Hotel to Transform Tourism in Armenia’s Ski Capital by 2027

Accor, a global leader in hospitality, has announced the signing of an agreement with WinInvest LLC to open a new Mercure hotel in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia.

Known as the country’s premier ski and resort town, Tsaghkadzor will welcome the 4-star Mercure Tsaghkadzor in early 2027, blending the brand’s hallmark “locally inspired” philosophy with the rich history and cultural heritage of Armenia.

Mercure, which celebrated surpassing 1,000 hotels worldwide, is committed to offering guests an authentic local experience at every destination. Through its “Discover Local” programme, Mercure ensures that every detail—from the design elements to the culinary offerings—reflects the unique essence of the surrounding culture.

The new hotel will feature 69 stylish rooms, including 10 villas, designed to deliver modern comfort infused with Armenian character. Guests will enjoy access to a wide range of amenities, including a modern spa and wellness area, a swimming pool, a sauna, and a hammam. The property will also host three restaurants, a kids’ area, and conference rooms for corporate and private events.

Alexis Delaroff, Chief Operating Officer of Accor New East Europe, highlighted the significance of the new addition: “This latest signing marks an important step in our continued expansion in Armenia, a country that has huge potential thanks to its rich cultural and natural landscape. Mercure Tsaghkadzor will be the perfect addition to our portfolio and will attract guests who will be able to experience the destination like a local.”

Located near iconic landmarks such as the Kecharis Monastery and the Orbeli brothers’ house-museum, the hotel offers visitors access to Armenia’s historical treasures. Tsaghkadzor is increasingly becoming a year-round destination, offering a blend of winter sports like skiing and snowboarding, as well as serene summer escapes with stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains.

Hovhannes Cholakhyan, Founder of WinInvest LLC, added: “Mercure Tsaghkadzor will significantly contribute to the development of Tsaghkadzor’s tourism infrastructure. The new hotel will elevate the travel experience by offering guests as well as locals the authentic spirit of Armenian hospitality and the highest comfort of a well-recognised international brand. We are confident that the construction and operation of the new hotel will play a key role in attracting new investments and will have a positive impact on Armenia’s tourism industry and economic growth.”

This expansion aligns with Mercure Hotels & Resorts’ strategy to deliver high-quality standards while staying true to the local essence of each destination. As part of the ALL – Accor Live Limitless lifestyle loyalty programme, Mercure Tsaghkadzor will offer members a variety of rewards, services, and experiences.

With Tsaghkadzor’s appeal growing among global travellers, Mercure Tsaghkadzor promises to redefine hospitality in this charming ski town and beyond, blending global standards with local authenticity.
