Oprah Winfrey knows a thing or two about stories that pull at your heartstrings and favorite things worth sharing.
So when her production company at the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) contacted Hilton about helping her honor five amazing dads being celebrated in a Father’s Day special hosted by Winfrey and actor Sterling K. Brown, from “This Is Us,” Team Hilton received a nice surprise from Oprah, too.
Turns out, Oprah wanted to send the fathers featured in “OWN Spotlight: Honoring Our Kings – Celebrating Black Fatherhood,” to one of her favorite vacation destinations – the Grand Wailea Waldorf Astoria in Maui.
“We are thrilled that Oprah thought our spectacular resort in Hawaii would be the perfect place to host these fathers and celebrate the amazing impact they are having on families beyond their own,” said Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton.
“We are honored to play a part in recognizing Black fathers – whose inspiring stories too often go untold.”
Oprah’s Father’s Day special premiered on June 15, providing plenty of time for families of all walks of life, like the dads being honored, to gather round their televisions to salute the fathers who are special in their lives.
